We are excited to announce the launch of the Reuse Network Social Impact Report 2025, which highlights the incredible work of our members across the UK. This year, despite facing financial pressures, the reuse sector has continued to make a tangible difference, providing essential goods, creating employment and volunteering opportunities, and contributing to a more sustainable future.
Key Highlights from the 2025 Report:
Together with reuse charities across the UK, we’ve:
- Reused 2.29 million furniture & electrical items
- Supported 1.35 million households
- Saved low-income households £288.88m
- Saved 83,262 tonnes of CO₂ emissions
A growing demand for affordable goods
The latest report shows how the reuse sector stepped in to support communities through a prolonged cost-of-living crisis, rising operating costs and declining external support – placing unprecedented pressure on charities working to meet growing local need.
The power of reuse
The reuse sector is not just about providing essential goods – it’s about fostering a circular economy, reducing waste, and helping communities thrive. By keeping furniture, appliances and other household items in use, reuse organisations continue to tackle poverty, reduce carbon emissions and strengthen local communities.
Through your ongoing support and donations, we’re able to help more people and contribute to a cleaner, greener environment. In 2025, the sector continued to show resilience, and the impact was felt more than ever.
What’s next?
Looking ahead, the sector is poised to play an even greater role in the circular economy, supporting emerging initiatives and ensuring essential household items reach those who need them most. We believe that, together, we can build a society where everyone can create a sustainable home.
