How do get I access to affordable household items?

Our network of reuse centres stock high-quality, affordable household items including furniture, electrical appliances, IT equipment and more. If you are looking for affordable household items, please check out our reuse centre locator.

Do the Reuse Network collect items?

We act as a representative for our network of reuse centres, so we do not collect items ourselves.

However, our network of reuse centres are always looking out for good quality household items that you no longer need so please feel free to contact us and we’ll put you in touch with your nearest reuse centre who may be able to collect items for donation.

Alternatively, check out our reuse centre locator to find your nearest reuse centre who are accepting donations.

How do I know if I’m eligible to become a Reuse Network member?

It’s simple! If you’re a Voluntary Sector or Charitable Organisation, based and operating within the UK, which is involved in at least one of the following four activities, you are eligible to become a Reuse Network member:

  • The re-use and sale/donation of household goods for the benefit of people on low income or by assisting those marginalised in the job market through the provision of work experience, employment and/or training
  • The re-use and sale/donation of electrical appliances for the benefit of people on low income by assisting those marginalised in the job market by the provision of work experience, employment and/or training
  • The collection or distribution of household goods or appliances for the benefit of people on low income or by assisting those marginalised in the job market by the provision of work experience, employment and/or training
  • The repair or reprocessing of household goods or appliances for the benefit of people on low incomes or by assisting those marginalised in the job market by the provision of work experience, employment and/or training

I’m not part of a reuse organisation – can I become part of the Reuse Network?

Of course! We are looking to expand our network beyond just reuse organisations with the launch of a new initiative called, ‘Friends of Reuse Network’.

Individuals and organisations from outside of the reuse sector can become a Friend of Reuse Network, and there is a different cost for each of these.

By becoming a Friend of Reuse Network, you can align yourself with our values and the Reuse Network pledge.

I work for a reuse organisation – can I become part of the Reuse Network?

Yes, absolutely – we would love for you to join our network of over 100 reuse charities. We offer two levels of membership.

The first is a Network Membership which offers an all-round benefits package to help you become an integral part of the reuse sector.

The second is an Approved Reuse Centre (ARC) Membership. This membership provides a thorough audit and assessment of quality management policies and procedures of your sites on an annual basis.

You can find out more about our membership opportunities and their benefits here and download our membership pack for a more detailed look at what Reuse Network can offer your organisation.

What do the Reuse Network do?

Working with our network of members, we are reducing poverty, tackling waste and offering a brighter and better future for the most isolated individuals in our society.

We work nationally so our members can act locally. This means providing them with the specialist advice and information they need to tackle poverty and inequality. Working side-by- side with our members, we help them raise income, reduce dependence on grants, get better access to more household goods and create opportunities for those in need.

Find out more about the work we do here.

What are your charitable objects?

Our charitable objects are to relieve persons who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress by the provision of, or assisting in the provision of, facilities advice and information that will develop, establish and assist furniture recycling charities.

You can read more about our values and mission here.

Who do you work with?

The Reuse Network work with over 100 members across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, who vary from smaller volunteer-led charities to larger social enterprises.

Who are Reuse Network?

We are the UK’s only membership body dedicated to charitable and voluntary reuse organisations. We work with our members to help alleviate poverty, reduce waste and tackle climate change. Watch our video here.

Will I get support with passing my audit?

Because the Approved Reuse Centre Annual Audit is a second party audit, your auditor will actively assist you and support you throughout the whole process. Within the auditing process, the auditor provides knowledge, guidance, information and practical skills to continually improve your organisation’s capabilities and performance so that you are better placed to face challenges now and in the future.

Preparation for the audit may initially require some work, however, you can rest assured that the benefits of this audit far outweigh the additional effort required.
