Winner of BBC’s Interior Design Masters Lynsey Ford announced as Reuse Network charity ambassador

Posted on the 19th May 2025

Lynsey Ford, winner of BBC’s Interior Design Masters, has been announced as Reuse Network’s charity ambassador and will support the charity in championing reuse, sustainability, and charities across the UK.

Lynsey Ford is an architect and interior designer who won Interior Design Masters in 2021. Known for her practical, thoughtful approach to interiors she often incorporates second-hand and upcycled items into her work. Since winning Interior Design Masters, Lynsey has continued to champion sustainable design choices and support accessible, affordable ways to create beautiful spaces.

Through the partnership, Reuse Network and Lynsey Ford will work together to raise awareness around the importance of reuse and support the network’s mission to alleviate poverty, tackle waste, and help communities thrive.

As charity ambassador, Lynsey will visit reuse charity shops and share tips on shopping, upcycling and styling pre-loved items on social media, helping to increase awareness of the vital work of reuse charities across the UK. Lynsey will also be taking part in the charity’s Buy Nothing New Day campaign which takes place each year as an ethical alternative to Black Friday, urging people to shop at their local reuse charity instead of buying new.

Every year, millions of useable household items are sent to landfill sites across the country, and many of these items could be reused and provided to people in crisis. Reuse Network are working to change this, speaking loudly and clearly on behalf of its network of charity members across the UK to secure funding for the sector, influence policy-makers, and ensure the growth of the social economy reuse sector so that reuse charities can continue supporting those in need.

Last year, the reuse sector as a whole reused 2.55 million furniture and electrical items, helping 1.5 million households save £321.2 million compared to buying these items new. By reusing these items, the charity reuse sector prevented 86,127 tonnes of products from being wasted which saved 92,566 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

Lynsey Ford commented:

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be the Charity Ambassador for Reuse Network. Reuse has been a huge part of my life and values for as long as I can remember, and I am passionate about showing how pre-loved furniture and household items can be stylish, functional, and full of character. I’m excited to support the incredible work Reuse Network members do across the country to reduce waste, tackle poverty, and build a more sustainable future”

Hannah Jordan, Chief Operations Officer at Reuse Network commented:

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Lynsey Ford as our charity ambassador. Her passion for sustainable design and love for pre-loved interiors make her a natural fit for our charity. Lynsey’s background in the social housing sector, and her extensive work in shining a spotlight on reuse give her a unique perspective on the charity reuse sector. We’re excited to have her help us champion the transformative impact of reuse – not just in reducing waste, but in supporting people and communities across the UK.”
