Hotpoint has been a consistent and valuable supporter of Reuse Network since 2015, supplying high quality kitchen appliances through the Suppliers’ Suite scheme.
Reuse Network is a reuse charity membership body set up to tackle climate change and alleviate poverty in the UK. Working with over 100 reuse charities across the UK, Reuse Network encourage cross sector collaboration by working with retailers, manufacturers, suppliers, reuse organisations and government bodies to make sure that reuse is prioritised from a social and environmental perspective.
Hotpoint, part of Beko Europe, joined Reuse Network as a supplier of kitchen appliances back in 2014 and since then has supported Reuse Network’s charity members by providing high quality kitchen appliances at a discounted price.
One of the many benefits of working with Hotpoint is its coverage of the country, meaning that no matter where a charity is based, it can access fairly priced white kitchen appliances. For example, an Approved Reuse Centre charity member in the Highlands can bulk order washing machines to supply to their local community, which can become an issue with other supply routes due to location.
Across the country, reuse charities provide support to low-income households via local authority support schemes such as the Household Support Fund. This fund is shared by local authorities to help residents with a range of needs, including furniture and kitchen appliances.
Reuse charities rely on the generous donations of kitchen appliances from the public in order to fulfil this support, however, this is not always sustainable during difficult economic periods such as the cost of living crisis. During these periods donations from the public see a steep decline, which means that reuse charities must source products from other places to continue supporting households needing appliances for their home.
In cases like this, charities will purchase items from a supplier like Hotpoint to keep up with the demand or the contractual agreement set by their local authority. By having access to the discounts that Hotpoint provide, the charities are able to supply more household items to those who need them.
“Hotpoint is an organisation that has fully committed to supporting reuse organisations. Over the years, the team have offered their space in Peterborough for regional events free of charge, held seminars, and even offered a spare parts delivery service. The anniversary of this partnership is one to be celebrated as Hotpoint continues to provide a quality product and service to reuse charities across the country.”, says Hannah Jordan, Chief Operations Officer, Reuse Network
