Remembering Ralph Higgins
August 1955 – August 2020

It is with great sadness we learned of the passing of Ralph Higgins on 13 August 2020. Ralph was an electrical engineer at Crest Cooperative in Llandudno, North Wales where he had been working for the last seven years.

During those seven years, Ralph quickly made himself known to us, the Reuse Network, but also other members across the UK. He always made sure he had a pack of biscuits or cake handy and picked up the phone for a quick chat and a check-in. Expert in fridge repairs, numerous employees from other Reuse Network members were referred to Ralph over the years to show them how he achieved near 90% reparability on the fridges collected for reuse – although we suspect he had a special touch that couldn’t really ever be taught.

Whoever you were, wherever you came from, Ralph always made sure you received a warm welcome.

He is greatly missed and the Reuse Network will always fondly remember Ralph.

Crest Co-operative, renamed their Reuse Hub the Ralph Higgins Reuse Hub in his memory.
