HYSapientia launch partnership by helping families in need
Posted on the 30th November 2023
One of our newest partners HYSapientia joined Reuse Network Suppliers’ Suite in September 2023. Specialising in the research, development, production, and sales of smart kitchen appliances, they make cooking simple and healthy.
To launch the new partnership, HYSapientia donated ten of their own brand air fryer products to two Reuse Network members – Stella’s Voice and ILM Highland.
Here’s a snapshot of the impact these donations have already had on the charities and the communities they serve.
Stella’s Voice
Reuse Network is made up of charities who each support a variety of causes, both nationally and internationally.
Stella’s Voice, is one such charity, who work to protect the world’s vulnerable from trafficking by providing care, education and jobs to those most at risk of being trafficked.
The charity also run six furniture reuse schemes in Aberdeen City & Shire and the Greater Portsmouth area to underpin the work they do, whilst supporting low-income households here in the UK.
HYSapientia’s timely donation meant that Stella’s Voice in Peterhead were able to respond quickly to a referral request from their local social services; a gentleman they were supporting had moved into his first social housing property, but when he arrived, the flat was an empty shell without a bed, something to sit on or to cook with.
Stella’s Voice jumped into action and supplied him with a HYSapientia oven which was donated free of charge, and he is now able to cook healthy meals for himself at a low cost.
Stella’s Voice were also able to help families in need after a head teacher and support worker of a local school got in touch to identify three families who desperately needed support.
The school specialises in providing an education for refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine as well as supporting children presenting additional needs.
Coming to Scotland after experiencing war, these families have had to start their lives from scratch. The donation from HYSapientia has allowed them to cook nutritious family meals in their new homes.
The remaining HYSapientia airfryers will help Stella’s Voice generate vital income to support their local community in Peterhead, Scotland, as well as providing a safe and energy efficient way of cooking nourishing meals for low-income households in the local community.
ILM Highland
ILM Highland is an independent charity and social enterprise, providing home improvement, electrical recycling and retail services to the Highlands of Scotland.
To support these services, they offer an extensive electrical recycling service. From their base in Alness, they also sell quality and affordable refurbished and new appliances. In addition, the charity offers spare parts and repair services for many electrical appliances, ensuring old and unwanted laptops do not end up in landfill.
The sale of the appliances donated by HYSapientia will be reinvested back into their local community to support vulnerable people at home.
In November alone, HYSapientia and Reuse Network members have;
• Helped 10 households across the UK.
• Saved households £1,620 compared to buying items new.
• Prevented 55kg of carbon emissions.
The Reuse Network’s vision is to build a society where everyone can create a sustainable home, and through partnerships with suppliers like HYSapientia, we are working to make this vision a reality. You can find out more about HYSapientia on our Suppliers’ Suite page.
