The only way is up for Reuse Network member, FRADE! The reuse charity, based primarily in the Northeast of the UK, has just opened up a brand-new retail space in Darlington. The new space will be home to a whole host of pre-loved household goods and furniture which has been re-purposed through the charity and saved from going to landfill.
The charity boasts community retail stores across Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough, Northallerton, Guisborough and Darlington, as well as a dedicated recycling hub in Middlesbrough, and works alongside local communities to repurpose preloved furniture, paint, clothing and bri-a-brac. Its extensive volunteering programme and work opportunities scheme provide a chance for staff, volunteers, associates and clients to retrain and develop new skills. In addition to this, the charity offers an opportunity for colleagues to work as part of a close knit team, in the knowledge that everything they do contributes to the improvement of our local communities.
Established in 1990, the charity has been providing vital support to its communities for over 30 years, helping to tackle poverty, reduce waste and create employment opportunities.
As well as it’s brand-new retail space, FRADE has also gained another warehouse facility which it hopes will allow the charity to buy in bulk which will result in lower costs for its clients, saving them money.
FRADE are inviting all those in the local community to pay a visit to its new shop to meet new manager Samantha and her dedicated team.
