The Reuse Network is delighted to share its 2023 Social Impact Report (April 2022 / March 2023) showcasing the difference made by our reuse charities, enterprises and corporate partners in improving the lives of people facing furniture poverty.
In 2023, the reuse sector as a whole reused 2.6 million furniture and electrical items. This in turn helped 1.59 million households in the UK, saving them £335.3 million compared to buying items new. Despite facing a tough financial climate, our members continue to step up and make a positive difference to both people and the environment.
Our members are located throughout Scotland, Wales, England and the Channel Islands. They support people in their local communities through a whole host of activities. In addition to reusing household furniture and electrical items, many of our members run food banks, community cafés, and other complementary activities, as well as providing volunteering and employment opportunities.
