Emmaus North Staffs are seeking several new trustees to join its Board to support with the general operation of the charity and play a part in the development of the first Emmaus community in Stoke-on-Trent – providing accommodation for formerly homeless people, as well as work opportunities at its social enterprise store Emmaus Furniture Mine.
About the role
Emmaus North Staffs are looking for trustees with a good understanding of the local area its serves and a driven passion to want to make a difference to local lives. The development of a residential element to introduce its first companions is a significant step forward in the charity’s development.
To attend regular meetings, advise on strategy and get to know staff, volunteers and companions. Understand how the charity’s social enterprise operates, and to advise on the strategic development of the charity. This involves each trustee bringing their professional experience, skills, and knowledge to the charity’s Board meetings, as well as seeking opportunities to collaborate with local partners to achieve the goals of the charity
